ORGANIZATIONAL IDENTITY
The Church at Trace Crossing is a new church.
The Church at Trace Crossing is a new church start in Tupelo, Mississippi. We began meeting for weekly worship in October 2006, but the church really began as an in-home small group in the early days of 2006. We are a group of people who feel compelled to live with a passion for God and compassion for the world. We range in age from a few months old to their upper 60s. We have people who are single, people who are married, people who are divorced, and people who are widowed. We have people who are just starting a family, people who are raising their family, and people who have no intention of beginning a family any time soon. We have people who have been believers in Christ for 50 years and we have people who have been believers in Christ for a few weeks.
Trace Crossing is a Christian church.
We stand in a long line of saints that span the ages, the people who for over two thousand years now have claimed faith and grace in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. This is our proudest identity, to be called a "Christian" or a "Christ-follower", as someone who honestly and earnestly seeks to live the life of Christ.
Trace Crossing is an evangelical church.
We believe that God has called us to share our faith both with our walk and with our words. We believe that good news is meant for everyone and we work with other like-hearted and like-minded churches in building God's Kingdom by preaching and living God's grace.
Trace Crossing is a Baptist church.
Trace Crossing is affiliated with the Lee County (MS) Baptist Association, the Mississippi Baptist Convention, and is a Southern Baptist church by denominational identity. Baptists have a heritage of taking the good news of Christ to the ends of the earth. That is something we want to be a part of, and so it is good to call the Baptist churches of our area and the globe our friends.
